Bealtaine Arrow Goddess
Bealtaine Arrow Goddess

At Bealtaine, May 1st, The ancients lit fires on the hilltops to celebrate the coming of summer and of purity and hope. The bonfires were also said to be a way of tribes communicating with each other as they could be seen from hilltop to hilltop across the country. Here we have a Cailleach liting the fire atop Lough Crew Cairn T with an arrow, and she travels with her hound from hill to tribe. The ley/energy lines are exaggerated and the grass is textured.
